A gentleman from the age of kindness

Zabok_at_night_smallKsaver Sandor Gjalski (Ljubo Babic), Croatian writer, born on 26.10.1854, in Gredice, near Zabok.
He graduated from Varazdin high school and continued his studies in Zagreb and in Vienna at the Faculty of law.

He worked in Virovitica, Sisak, Pakrac, Susak, Zagreb as a civil servant; but he was forced to retire due to his non-acceptance of Hungarian politics.

Licitar – a part of Croatian cultural heritage
